Why AI, and Why Now?
By Ciprian NafornitaWhy AI, and Why Now?
For the past couple of months, I've been deep in AI. Not because my job demanded it. Not because someone told me it's the future. But because suddenly, I can do things that were never reachable before.
The Tools I Actually Use
I didn't "learn AI." I learned how to use AI — and that's a different game. Here's what's actually in my rotation, and what each one is for:
-
Copilot — structure, clarity, workflows. This is where I go to think in systems before I build anything.
-
Claude — code, logic, formats. The architect brain. If something needs to actually work, this is where it gets built.
-
ChatGPT — image generation, creativity on demand.
-
Gemini — handy, instant, press-a-button intelligence when I don't want to overthink it.
-
Grok — online search with personality.
-
Lovable — my favourite lately. Publish apps and websites like it's nothing.
It's a crazy world. But here's the twist: most people don't know these abilities exist — not because they can't use them, but because nobody's shown them the benefits. My friends ask AI for jokes. Or they generate one image, don't like it, and stop. Meanwhile I'm over here reverse-engineering AI like it's a superpower.
Call Me Lucky… or Call Me Obsessed
-
Call me lucky that I realised you can reverse AI — use its own knowledge to help you write better prompts. Instead of guessing what to type, I ask AI what it needs from me to get a better result. That single shift changed everything.
-
Call me lucky that I realised a screenshot saves me a ridiculous amount of time compared to rewriting or copy-pasting. I stopped retyping things without knowing it — now AI can just read the screenshot and go.
-
Call me lucky that I learned how to connect GitHub, Supabase, and many other tools — worlds that used to sound like alien planets. Now they're just the plumbing behind whatever I'm building.
-
Call me lucky that I found Dola AI or Google Labs, a lightweight tool and an experimental environment that generates videos like magic — no bloated software, no learning curve, just output.
-
Call me lucky that I use Canva to edit whatever AI spits out and make it look human. AI gets you 80% there; a bit of manual polish gets you the rest.
-
Call me lucky that I write LinkedIn content with AI — not always perfect, but slowly I figured out what a hook is, what a CTA is, and how to make people stop scrolling instead of keep scrolling.
All of this used to be alien science for someone like me. Now I can see how everything connects — the prompt, the tool, the platform, the output, all one pipeline instead of six separate mysteries.
Maybe I'm Behind. Maybe I'm Ahead. But I'm Definitely Moving.
AI didn't give me a shortcut. It gave me access. And once you taste access, you don't go back.

AI will not make you smarter. But capable. Will give you the ability to build, publish, design, automate, and create — without waiting for permission or expertise.
And that's why AI matters now. Not because it's trendy. Not because it's everywhere. But because it finally gives normal people the power to do extraordinary things.
Most people still think AI is jokes, memes, one bad image, or a chatbot that "doesn't understand them." But you're here, reading a newsletter called Build or Be Forgotten . You already know the truth:
AI is not the future. AI is the toolbelt.
And the people who learn how to use it are the ones who won't be forgotten.

Eze Echie
While many of us are building with AI, some people are still building the long way — with patience, consistency, and decades of disciplined creativity. One of them is Eze Echie .
He's spent 25 years writing and publishing books across poetry, philosophy, Christian reflections, and social commentary. Nearly 20 poetry anthologies, multiple prototypes, works in his native language, and a catalogue shaped by real experiences — conflict, peace, memory, and resilience.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of his first book. He's still publishing. Still competing. Still pushing his craft forward. Still encouraging others to rise and create something meaningful.
In a world where AI lets us build faster, Eze reminds us that some people still build the long way — with discipline, devotion, and a creative engine that refuses to stop.
Supporting creators like Eze matters. AI accelerates creation — but people like him remind us where creation begins.
