Terms of Use

These terms apply to everyone who visits, reads, subscribes to or sends a Spotlight pitch to BBF: Build or Be Forgotten ("BBF"), a publication operated by SIMPLionEX and written by Ciprian Nafornita ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Opinion and commentary, not absolute truth

Everything published on BBF — editions, essays and breakdowns by the author — is the personal, subjective opinion and commentary of the author at the time of writing. It is shaped by individual experience, interpretation and, yes, emotion. It is not a statement of absolute or verified fact, and it does not represent the position of any past, current or future employer, client or partner.

2. Information only — no professional advice

BBF is provided for general information, education and discussion only. Nothing on the site is technical, architectural, security, financial, investment, legal, tax, employment or any other professional advice. Always do your own research and consult a qualified professional before acting. Any decision you make based on BBF content is made entirely at your own risk.

3. Provided "as is"

All content, code snippets, diagrams, links and tools are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Technology, AI models, prices and products change quickly; content is accurate only as of its publication date, if at all, and we have no duty to update it.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SIMPLionEX, Ciprian Nafornita and any contributors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive loss or damage — including lost profits, revenue, data, business, goodwill, system outages or failures — arising from your access to, use of, or reliance on the site or its content, however caused. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to £0, or the minimum amount allowed by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

5. Age

You must be at least 16 to subscribe or send a Spotlight pitch. BBF has no public accounts, comments or forum; reader participation is limited to subscribing and sending pitches by form or email.

6. Spotlight editorial submissions

Spotlight pitches are voluntary submissions sent privately to the editor for review. They are never published automatically. We decide, at our sole discretion, whether, when and how any submission is featured, and we may edit, shorten or decline it without explanation. Sending a pitch does not guarantee publication, a timeline or any reply, and featuring a project is not an endorsement, warranty or partnership. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you send, and you confirm it does not infringe anyone's rights or contain confidential information.

7. Licence to your submission

You keep ownership of what you send. By submitting, you give SIMPLionEX a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, adapt and share it in BBF editions and related SIMPLionEX channels (including newsletters and social media) in connection with the publication.

8. Our content and fair use

All BBF text, branding, artwork and design belong to SIMPLionEX unless stated otherwise. You may quote short extracts with clear credit and a link to the original edition. You may not republish whole editions, scrape the site with automated tools, or use our content to train AI or machine-learning models without written permission.

9. Third parties, Spotlight and support links

BBF links to and features third-party people, products and sites (for example Spotlight builders, LinkedIn and Buy Me a Coffee). Featuring or linking to them is not an endorsement, warranty or partnership, and we are not responsible for their content, products, security or practices. Support payments are voluntary gifts, are handled by the third-party platform, and do not buy any service, content or influence over editorial decisions.

10. Copyright complaints and corrections

If you believe something on BBF infringes your rights or contains a factual error about you, contact us at support@simplionex.com with the page link, a description of the issue and your contact details. We will review it and may remove or correct the content at our discretion.

11. Indemnity

You agree to cover any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) that SIMPLionEX or the author suffer because of content you submit or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes, availability and law

We may change, suspend or remove the site or any content at any time, and may update these terms by posting a new version here. Continued use means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you rights that cannot be waived. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
