“Building in public isn’t just content marketing. It’s distribution.”
One of the strangest things about building in public is that you don't really know what it's doing for you. At least I didn't. I thought I was just documenting the journey of building SIMPLionEX:
-
Building.
-
Posting.
-
Talking to people.
-
Sharing the messy bits.
-
Repeating
Then something shifted. I realised there are 3 levels of building in public:
LEVEL 1
Level 2
LEVEL 3
And you sit there thinking: Wait… when did this become a thing?
That’s where I’ve found myself recently with SIMPLionEX — people and companies reaching out with collaboration ideas, services, and opportunities I didn’t even know existed.
The real lesson
Building in public isn’t content marketing. It’s distribution.
You’re putting the problem, the product, the founder and the journey in front of people long before you ever ask for anything.
You’re giving people time to understand what you’re building. And when the right people see enough of the journey… they come to you.
Why I’m sharing this?
Because if you’re building something — and you feel invisible — you might not be. You might just be at Level 1. Keep showing the messy bits. Keep sharing the journey. Keep building in public. One day, someone knocks. And that’s when you realise you were never as invisible as you thought.
Building Simplionex - Fire Drill in public means testing it in the wild. I’m looking for a workplace willing to test the app in real‑world conditions. If you want early access and want to help validate it, DM me .
